Turlock
Turlock, California is the second largest city in Stanislaus County with a population of over 70,000 residents. It is the home to California State University Stanislaus. It is definitely a one-of a kind place that offers a quality learning environment and still maintain a rural setting. Located in the midst of the nearby Mother Lode, San Francisco Bay area, Yosemite and Sierra Nevada, make it a unique place to call home. Downtown, you will have an enjoyable feel as you look around and experience the local restaurants and brew houses. Most of the restaurant take pride in using local meats, milk and produce to create their culinary masterpieces. Annually in Turlock you will also be quite aware of the county-wide celebration that is held at the Turlock fairgrounds, for all to enjoy. This is an event that takes place in July and lasts from beginning of one weekend through the end of the next. They have the classic vendors and carnival rides along with different animal showings and prizing. Some of the attendees look forward to events that take place within the county fair’s walls, such as The Shrimp, Tri-tip and Pasta Feed and Tastes of the Valley; a wine and cheese night. Turlock has annual holiday events, family fun days, fun runs and outdoor movie nights to keep its residents involved in the community.
